Children’s Program

Creative Movement (ages 3-5) - introduces fundamental skills and concepts of dance movement.  Children will learn basic locomotor skills, stretching, body awareness and musicality through imagery and interactive exercises as well as classroom etiquette.

Pre-Ballet (age 6)/ Ballet Technique (age 7) - preparatory classes which introduce children to ballet technique.  Students begin to work on body alignment and posture as well as development of the feet and turnout.

 

Intro. To Jazz – Jazz 5/6 - Students will learn jazz technique including basic steps, musicality, stretch, and choreography.

 

Intro. To Tap – Tap 4/5 - Students will learn tap technique including basic steps and rhythms, musicality, and choreography.

 

Hip-Hop (Ages 7+) - A fun-moving, energy packed class that strives to use old as well as new moves to develop a person’s style, going from break-dancing up to the latest moves.  Hip-Hop is a great class for those who want to have fun.

Lyrical (Ages 7+) - A class combining ballet, jazz and modern movement danced to contemporary music.

 

Pre-Professional Program

 

An intensive program for students ages 8 and older offered for the serious dancer.  Students are required to attend multiple classes per week.

 

PP 1 (Ages 8-9)       2 ballet technique classes per week

 

PP 2 (Ages 9+)         2 ballet technique classes per week

 

PP 3 (Ages 10+)       2 ballet technique classes per week

                             Pre-pointe

 

PP 4 (Ages 11+)       2 ballet technique classes per week

                             1 Pointe class per week

                  

PP 5 (Ages 11+)       2 ballet technique classes per week

                             2 Pointe class per week

 

PP 6/7 (Ages 12+)  3 ballet technique classes per week  

                           3 Pointe classes per week

 

Ballet Theatre of Ashburn Rehearsal for levels PP 2 – PP 7

 

*Pointe classes are available to students age 11+ placed in level PP 4 or above, and upon approval by both directors.

 

Recreational Program

A program designed to give students professional training without the commitment required for the Pre-Professional Program.  Classes are age appropriate and offered once a week at each level.

 

Adult Program

Beginning through Intermediate/Advanced ballet classes for adults with various backgrounds.  Beginning Tap and Intermediate Tap classes are now offered.

 

Adult Programs

We are proud to offer Beginning/Intermediate through Intermediate/Advanced ballet classes for adults with various backgrounds as well as Beginning/Intermediate Tap class.

Princess for a Day

Join us on Friday, July 11th or Saturday, July 19th for a fun filled morning of enchantment.

Dress up as a ballet princess as you dance, make arts and crafts, watch ballet videos, and listen to ballet stories.
