Our Classes

Children’s Programs

Budding Ballerinas (age 2) – a ballet based class which introduces fundamental skills and concepts of dance movement. Children will learn basic locomotor skills, stretching, body awareness and musicality through imagery and interactive exercises as well as classroom etiquette.

Preschool Dance (ages 3-4) – a ballet based class which introduces fundamental skills and concepts of dance movement. Children will learn basic locomotor skills, stretching, body awareness and musicality through imagery and interactive exercises as well as classroom etiquette.

Kindergarten Dance (age 5) – a ballet based class which introduces fundamental skills and concepts of dance movement. Children will learn basic locomotor skills, stretching, body awareness and musicality through imagery and interactive exercises as well as classroom etiquette.

Pre-Ballet (age 6)/ Ballet Technique (age 7) - preparatory classes which introduce children to ballet technique. Students begin to work on body alignment and posture as well as development of the feet and turnout.

Contemporary Dance

Intro. To Jazz – Jazz 5/6 (Ages 6+) - Students will learn jazz technique including basic steps, musicality, stretch, and choreography.

Intro. To Tap – Tap 4/5 (Ages 6+)- Students will learn tap technique including basic steps and rhythms, musicality, and choreography.

Hip-Hop (Ages 5+) - A fun-moving, energy packed class that strives to use old as well as new moves to develop a person’s style, going from break-dancing up to the latest moves. Hip-Hop is a great class for those who want to have fun.

Lyrical (Ages 7+) - A class combining ballet, jazz and modern movement danced to contemporary music.

Musical Theater (Ages 7+) - A class which introduces students to the world of musical theater. Students will learn choreography from various musicals.

Acro Dance - An integral part of a Contemporary dancer's training with smooth, graceful transitions between dance and acrobatic movements. Acro dance has a significant percentage of dance movement with respect to its acrobatic content.

Pre-Professional Ballet Program

An intensive program for students ages 8 and older offered for the serious dancer. Students are required to attend multiple classes per week.

PP 3 (Ages 10+) 2 Ballet technique classes per week 1 Pre-Pointe Class
PP 4 (Ages 11+) 2 Ballet technique classes per week 1 Pointe class
PP 5 (Ages 12+) 2 Ballet technique classes per week 2 Pointe classes
PP 6 (Ages 12+) 2 Ballet technique classes per week/ 2 Pointe classes
PP 7/8 (ages 13+) 3 or 4 Ballet technique/Pointe classes per week
PP 9/10 (ages 14+) 3 or 4 Ballet technique/Pointe classes per week

*Pointe classes are available to students age 11+ placed in level PP 4 or above, and upon approval by both directors

Recreational Ballet Program

A program designed to give students professional training without the commitment required for the Pre-Professional Program. Classes are age appropriate and offered once a week at each level.
