Ashburn Academy of Ballet Attendance
Policy
Arrival and Departure Times
Students should arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to
their scheduled class time. Parents are expected to pick up
their child promptly at the end of the scheduled class time.
The school will not be responsible for students once their class
is dismissed.
Absences and Make-ups
Students are expected to attend classes on a regular basis.
Any student arriving after the first ten minutes of class will
not be permitted to participate in that class. This is not a
disciplinary measure, but is done for the physical safety of
the student and she/he will be asked to observe that class.
Please notify the school whenever an absence is necessary.
Make-up classes can be scheduled when absences occur. Make-up
classes must be taken at the student’s level or below.
Due to the high standards of the Pre-Professional Program,
regular attendance is mandatory. Only those absences due to
illness, injury, or a death in the family will be excused. All
excused and unexcused absences must be made-up. Any student
with more than four unexcused absences within four months will
not be allowed to continue to participate in the program.
Class Observations and Performances
Parent observation days will be scheduled twice a year during
the months of December and April. Parents may not observe classes
other than on the scheduled days.
Performances will be held at the end of the school year. Performance
date and location will be announced at a later date.
Inclement Weather
In case of inclement weather, please call the studio for cancellations.
The studio does not always close in accordance with Loudoun
County schools. The school does not pro-rate tuition for weather
cancellations, but make-up classes may be scheduled.
